Company info

Dot and Ethel is a newly formed company with designer Harriet de Winton and director Heidi Vaughan. We make work that celebrates the creative; we tell stories in an unpretentious and generous way; rich in theatrical techniques and dollops of fun. We aim to bring fresh and imaginative experiences to our audience – asking big questions, breaking rules, revealing accidents and adding dramatic delight to everyday life

Over the last 15 years Heidi has worked as a director, senior manager, head of department and workshop leader- venues include; the Egg, Bath, Nuffield Theatre Southampton, Oxford School of Drama, Bristol Old Vic, The Sherman Cardiff, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, The Point, Eastleigh (Director of Young People's Theatre) and Oxford Playhouse (Head of Learning). She is delighted to be an Associate Artist of the egg.

Heidi has worked on an international level delivering workshops and community projects for children and young people in the near and mid East, Ireland, Spain and Italy with the British Council and the inspiring Druid Theatre Company.

Harriet trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and on graduating, began designing for nationally acclaimed company Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory. After countless seasons, transfers and tours, Harriet is as excited as ever to start work on their 2014 season and tour.
She has designed for numerous venues and national tours across the UK and Europe with exciting up-and-coming companies and established greats of the theatre world.

Alongside theatre design Harriet has added many creative strings to her bow; she is founder and Creative Editor of Cloth Magazine, illustrator and stylist for numerous publications, event and installation designer and super blogger (www.fixuplookchic.blogspot.co.uk)
